Marketing to Moms: M2M brings B2B

January 6, 2010

It is no surprise that Mom-run businesses have put the Internet to work to promote themselves. In a recent article for Media Post, Adam Boyden, President of Austin, Texas-based interactive advertising agency Conduit, made three observations on Mom-run businesses reaching out to their peers.

First, social media creating community – Social networking tools including blogs, RSS feeds and Twitter are enabling Mom-run businesses to distribute content, create conversations with their target audience and build a community.

Second, using video – Online video allows for engagement at a richer level. Online video is not hamstrung by broadcast time constraints, so longer more conversational toned pieces are possible.

Third, making the most of the browser – A key capture opportunity anytime Mom logs onto the Internet is through the browser. Creating browser add-ons that provide links to blogs, resources, social media sites or couponing sites have proved very successful for more than 750 women-owned businesses.

Remember effective communications Mom to Mom can bring business to your business.
